Welcome to the Custom Bindes website
What is a "binde"? Binde is the German word for "sleeve" and it comes from the first pens that I began to customize: Pelikan 100's. These pens have a colored sleeve, or binde, on their barrel and I started out by making replacement bindes for those pens, to dress them up a bit. Vintage Pelikan 100's (and 100N's) are great writing pens, but I wanted something that was a little different, visually. Custom Bindes were born. Since then I have begun working on many other brands and models of fountain pen and you will find many of them among the pages on this website. The "What's New" page shows new materials. The "Unique Pens" page shows some one of a kind pens that I have done in the past. The materials shown on that page are no longer available. The "Materials" page will take you through six pages of different materials, all of which are currently available. If you are have any questions please e-mail me at Chris@CustomBindes.com. thanks, Chris
