I received my 1960´s MB149 today back from Chris Burton who did instal a woodgrain hard ruber binde on it. The pen is absolutely georgeous!, the dark shades of brown and black, blend prefectly into the overall look of the pen and yet makes it unique. The best thing is tha the nib is a flexy stub to die for andthe whoe combination is just fantastic! I´d recommend Chris´services without question.

The Vanishing Point got here this morning...I LOVE IT!! Not only is it MUCH more

attractive than the blue carbonesque (not that that wasn't a pretty

pen iteslf, mind you), but it's more comfortable for me to hold now

that it's considerably lighter than the original pen was. Wow...I

just can't believe how cool this thing is..can't wait to get it into rotation!!

[for a vintage Pelikan 100] I just took the original binde out and held it next to the MHR [mottled hard rubber] and I have to say that it looks so goddamn ANEMIC next to the MHR. I cannot figure out how Pelikan survived all these decades!

Vintage Pelikans are among my favorite pens, but they are overwhelmingly green --- not at all my favorite pen color. Custom bindes solve that problem: A vintage Pelikan can now be every bit as colorful as a Cities Series Pelikan. The worksmanship is superb, the price is right, the range of colors is outstanding, and the original binde can be restored whenever you want. What more could you ask? Think of Chris's bindes as what Pelikan might have done back then, had the materials been available.
